We jump ahead to the early 1970s for the second of three posts in our Birmingham City Vintage series.

Freddie Goodwin was manager during these years and he crafted an exciting and entertaining team that returned to the top flight in 1972 and boasted a much-lauded forward line of Bob Latchford, Bob Hatton and a young Trevor Francis who all feature in our Gallery.

Attendances rocketed and City more than held its own in Division One in these years.
