A follow on from our previous post about the excitement that surrounded the 1950s Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘floodlight friendlies‘. Here’s a 1952 cartoon from Charles Buchan Football Monthly that muses in a light-hearted manner about what radical changes to the game might come from the new craze of evening matches. The frame about nobbling the fuse-box was somewhat more prescient than the others – yes, I’m looking at you Charlton Athletic!
