Wolverhampton Wanderers Vintage 1962-70

EnglandAfter the giddy highs that Wolves enjoyed in the 1950s, the decline that set in during the following decade represented a very punishing hangover. The sacking of Stan Cullis in 1964 was the end of an epic era and Wolves’s ignominious slump was compounded by relegation in 1965.

The club bounced back to its more accustomed habitat after two seasons out of the top flight, and under Bill McGarry there would come a marked improvement in fortunes. This Vintage post collects up images of some of the club’s key players from these years.
