Our first of two Bristol City Vintage posts features retro images of some of the club’s key players during the 1958 to 1973 period. We have found a home here for a very old 1920 team shot too.
During these years City was a club that mostly drifted between the second and third divisions, their ambitions for a return to the First Division after a very lengthy absence on ice until the second half of the 1970s. Our favourite image here is of Ernie Peacock who has the look and bearing of an evil 19th century mill owner.
