Our trawl back through the history of old football cartoons has previously yielded some hard-man themed Football Funnies galleries, so we’re going to expand that idea out a little in this post.

This time we’re looking at retro cartoons from football periodicals like Goal, Shoot, Soccer Star and Charles Buchan Football Monthly themed around aggressive and unsporting teams. No doubt these were inspired back in the day by the notoriety in the 60s and 70s of famously tough sides like Leeds United and Estudiantes de La Plata.
